Tonight, you're going out.
That's all you know.
No itinerary. No carefully researched restaurant menu. No checking Google reviews from the parking lot.
You're making this up as you go.
And we're going to see where you end up.
How it works: Read the scenario, make your choice, then skip ahead to the section it sends you to.
No cheating.
No reading both options.
We will know.
START HERE
It's 6:42 p.m.
You're both dressed. You have nowhere you have to be tomorrow morning, and one of you says:
“Okay. What are we doing?”
You could play it relatively safe. Dinner somewhere you've never tried, maybe a drink afterward, and see where the night takes you.
If you're choosing dinner → Go to Section 1.
OR...
You could skip dinner plans entirely, get in the car and decide what you're doing once you're already out.
Slightly irresponsible?
Perhaps.
If you're choosing adventure → Go to Section 3.
SECTION 1: The Restaurant
You pick a restaurant neither of you has been to before.
Things are going well.
The food is good. Nobody has accidentally ordered something containing an ingredient they hate. You're feeling extremely pleased with yourselves.
Then your server asks:
“Can I interest you in dessert?”
You look at each other.
There are two kinds of people in this world.
A. Obviously we're getting dessert.
You order something unnecessarily decadent and agree to share.
B. Absolutely not. We're going somewhere else.
Dinner was merely phase one.
SECTION 2: One Dessert, Two Forks
Excellent choice.
The dessert arrives.
You said you'd share.
One of you is very clearly eating more than half.
This will be addressed at a later date.
While you're finishing, one of you has an idea:
“We could just go home…”
There is a pause.
Because go home could mean comfy clothes and television.
Or it could mean something considerably more interesting.
A. Home sounds perfect.
B. Absolutely not. The night is young.
SECTION 3: No Plan. Just Vibes.
You're in the car.
Someone has control of the playlist.
The other person has been specifically instructed not to ask where you're going.
The problem?
The person driving doesn't actually know either.
Eventually you come to a decision.
A. Find somewhere with drinks, music and people.
Tonight needs some energy.
B. Grab snacks and drive somewhere quiet.
Less people. More talking. Better snacks.
SECTION 4: Just the Two of You
You find somewhere quiet.
Maybe it's a lookout. Maybe it's by the water. Maybe you're sitting in the car eating convenience-store snacks in a parking lot with an unexpectedly excellent view.
Either way, you've somehow reached the point in the night where the conversation gets good.
Not:
Did you pay the hydro bill?
Not:
What time do we have to leave tomorrow?
Actual conversation.
Then someone asks:
“Want to hear something I've never told you?”
Oh.
A. YES.
Obviously.
B. Actually… I have a question for YOU.
Interesting.
SECTION 5: One More Drink
You've found somewhere with music.
The lighting is suspiciously flattering.
Nobody is talking about work.
You're sitting just a little closer than necessary.
Then a song comes on that one of you loves.
A. We're dancing.
Even if neither of us can dance.
Especially if neither of us can dance.
B. We're staying right here.
Because this conversation is getting interesting.
SECTION 6: Back Home
Shoes off.
Door locked.
Phones down.
You both look at the couch.
Then at each other.
There's a very important decision to make.
A. Comfy clothes. Snacks. Movie.
Honestly? Elite date-night behaviour.
B. Put some music on.
Nobody is ready for bed yet.
SECTION 7: The Confession
They lean in.
You prepare yourself for scandal.
And then they tell you...
Something adorable.
Something they've always loved about you but apparently never actually said out loud.
Rude.
You were promised gossip.
But now you're smiling like an idiot.
You could keep talking.
Or...
A. Ask another question.
We're apparently having feelings tonight.
B. Enough talking.
SECTION 8: The Question Game
You've accidentally invented a game.
One person asks a question.
The other has to answer honestly.
Then you switch.
It starts innocent:
What's somewhere you've always wanted to travel?
Then:
What's something you wish we did more often?
Then:
What's something you've always wanted us to try?
Oh.
Well.
Now we're getting somewhere.
A. Keep asking questions.
B. I think we've gathered enough information for tonight.
SECTION 9: The Dance Floor
Neither of you is particularly concerned with whether you're good at this.
Which makes it significantly more fun.
At some point you look at each other and realize:
Okay.
This date has officially exceeded expectations.
Eventually, someone leans over and says:
“Want to get out of here?”
A. Yep.
B. One more song.
ENDING A: The Cozy Ending 🥡
You made it home.
You changed into something comfortable.
Someone found snacks.
You spent 45 minutes choosing a movie and approximately 11 minutes watching it before one of you started talking.
And somehow?
It was perfect.
Your date-night energy is:
Comfort > everything.
You don't need reservations, grand gestures or elaborate plans to feel connected.
Sometimes the best date is simply remembering that you actually really like hanging out with this person.
ENDING B: The “Wait, It's HOW Late?” Ending 🌙
At some point, somebody checks the time.
That can't possibly be correct.
You've spent hours talking, laughing and doing absolutely nothing according to plan.
Tomorrow-you may have opinions about this.
Tonight-you does not care.
Your date-night energy is:
Just one more.
One more question.
One more drink.
One more song.
One more hour.
These are usually the nights you remember.
ENDING C: The Romantic Ending 💕
Well.
Look at you two.
You didn't need a huge adventure.
You needed a little time, a little attention and apparently the correct playlist.
Your date-night energy is:
The slow burn.
You like anticipation. Connection. A little flirting.
And whatever happens after this?
That's none of our business.
ENDING D: The “We'll Take It From Here” Ending 😏
And this is where LoL politely exits the story.
You two appear to have things under control.
Your date-night energy is:
Plans are overrated.
The night started one way.
It ended somewhere entirely different.
Which, if you ask us, is usually a very good sign.
The rest of this adventure is yours.
